AHL goalie ratings have arrived and are waiting for November 1st so they can begin signing contracts ahead of NSHL24.
AHL goalies are rated based on their AHL performance in the most recent season using the same formulas as NHL goalies, except the outcomes are reduced by 15% and their EN is 50. AHL goalies are easily identified as their names appear in ALL CAPS.
The purpose of an AHL goalie is to be a depth fill-in and not relied on for regular action.
An AHL goalie can sign a one-year, one-way contract for no less than $500,000. Signing an AHL goalie offers no future rights and has no impact on future ratings/re-rates.
If a team has an AHL goalie on their prospect list, they are the only team that may sign that particular goalie.
Each team can submit one (1) offer a day beginning on NOVEMBER 1st at 9 AM EST.
The league will sign goalies to the highest overall dollar value offered (salary or salary + SB if offered) the following day. Teams may repeat process and can end up with a maximum of two (2) AHL goalies on their roster at any time.
Offers must be sent to the league e-mail address.
All remaining UFAs have been assigned their NHL-based re-rate in an attempt to make their ratings more attractive for a contract. The updated ratings can be found on the UFAs list (under Off-Season from the menu).
Teams may send offers to UFAs beginning NOVEMBER 1st at 9 AM EST. A reminder that UFAs are now guaranteed a one-way contract worth at least $1mm each year. Teams may offer multiple years, an NMC or SB if they wish.
Offers must be sent to the league e-mail address.
For a minute or two there the league tried out a dark mode colour scheme in an attempt to fit in with all the cool kids.
The feedback came in and when you're bouncing back and forth between STHS generated pages that are stark-white to a dark screen, it just doesn't work.
While the league doesn't rule out some darker options down the line, reverting back to a lighter featured scheme helps key components pop and we can still go find dark featured components that we see in the trade posts, as an example.
It was worth a shot.
As we move forward with the current modernization attempt, features will change and the expectation is the entire website will become a touch more "modern" or at least more user friendly on the various devices that are out there.
